Sunday Brunch!

I woke up super late on sunday because the sky was gloomy and it's such a good day to sleep. My mom surprisingly suggest we should have sunday brunch in Kampachi Restaurant in Equatorial Hotel! That is like one of the best japanese buffeet i have ever had!

I had their sushi and it's really good! It's like one bite size and the sushi rice doesn't break apart when you dip the soy sauce. This mean the sushi chef has some good skills. Mostly commercialized japanese restaurant's roll is too big and rice will fall apart.. Also, I had so many servings of teppayki chicken!! =) Delicious... It's really satisfiying!

Pizza Vending Machine

This is amazing. A vending machine that can freshly make a crust, put all the sauce and toppings and bake the pizza- all within 2.5 minutes. This newly invented machine is introduced by an Italian company, which they has shown love for their national symbolic food. Click! To read article Most importantly, it's freshly baked pizza! Of course many traditional Italian pizza makers has commented on this machine.. but i still find this so amazing.. I have never thought of that before..
Maybe we can sell chinese stir fry in vending machine too! LOL

Tea time~

I have always enjoyed drinking Chinese tea. My dad loves Bakkuteh-, a chinese delicacy where the pork meat was braised in a herbal soup and to compliment the food, you should drink a hot cup of tea.. I guess that is how i started to like it because of my dad's influence, i love bakkuteh too. The tea that i drank is OoLong, one of the different types of tea. I basically liked stronger tea like "Cha Wang"(literally translate as King of Tea) and "Hiong Pin"(Jasmine tea).
I went to do my feet pedicure in Bangsar Village 2.. at a shop called Colour Culture. It's really good. They have a lot of colour selections and the service is quick and efficient. Appointment is recommended. After that, we went to have dinner in Fatty Crab, one of the famous seafood restaurant in Taman Megah that is famous for their signature crab dish. The taste is still the same and as good as before! Another popular way to eat it is dipping the crab sauce with toasted bread! Yummmy..

I was out in shopping mall yesterday .. and missed this turn and hit the side of wall really hard!

In the end, I scratched and dented one of the doors...Heart ACHE!
Well, coincidently, it was one of my sister's birthday.. and so we bought this cake for her and wanted to surprise her. She wasn't expecting a celebration. She is already 17!

I finally got the shirt and cardigan i wanted. Its really nice. And plus, my best friend in Atlanta told me she has received the box I had sent! I was really glad.. because when i tried to track it in Malaysia's poslaju, i couldn't find it.

I need to shop!

My sister officially started work as a part-timer in GAP outlet and i paid her a visit during her working hours. Walking around the store, this yellow cardigan caught my eye! It's really nice and matches so well with a grey shirt.. The cardigan is very comfortable and it's not like some material where it made you itch..

I need to get some more shorts to replace the ones i have been wearing. I think most of my clothes especially T-shirt are more than 10 years already.

GAP is really expensive in Malaysia and I guess its because of the currency conversion. As I was told by my US friend, GAP wasn't that expensive.

Oh well..
I am going to start work really soon! Enjoy my vacation and then prepare to work..

Conveyor Belt Sushi Restaurant!!

Japanese food was preceived as something very expensive among us. I remembered the first conveyor belt sushi restaurant was introduced to Malaysia was around .. year 95-99. Sushi King was like the first sushi chain in the restaurant. Right now, japanese food has became much more popular where more conveyor belt sushi restaurant were established including Genki Sushi, Sakae Sushi and so.

Right now I guess the latest japanese conveyor belt sushi chain is Sushi Zanmai. It's so popular until you have line up and wait to be seated. I personally liked their yakitori , salmon fish head and their fried chicken. It's excellent with a glass of Japanese Asahi beer! The only setback is that the enviroment is really crowded and you can't really enjoy eating the food because everything comes so quick and the tables are small. I think there is a reason for the small tables design- This will make people eat quicker and so will somehow resulted a higher table turnover.
I think the reason why it became so popular is because of the menu variety, they have pretty much everything from sashimi to grilled items and noodles. Most importantly, its affordable.

Places I Have Lived

For the past 3-4 years, I have been moving around and living in a couple different countries. Of course, I was borned in Kelantan State, lived for 10 years in a small town called Kuala Krai which is 1 and half hours drive away from Kota Bharu, the capital city of the state. Life is usually more laid back, nearer to nature and not very developed. However, those are actually stories of 10 years ago. Recently, the small town has it's 1st fast food outlet - KFC and also a global chain convinient store - 7 Eleven. The small town has been slowly developing, which i think it's good because this would raise the standard of living of the town. As far as i know, the standard of living of the east coast of Penisula island (Malaysia) is still far less as compared to the west coast(where Kuala Lumpur is situated).

I moved to Kuala Lumpur when I was 10. There are a lot of stuff, a lot of excitement, .. because at that time, it was the most developed city in whole Malaysia. Not to mentioned right now, Kuala Lumpur is famous as the capital city of Malaysia, but it is also the place of 2 Malaysia's icon - KL Tower and Petronas Twin Tower.
I remembered when Dr M- our 4th Prime Minister announced the huge project of building Twin Tower, many people disagree to it because of the cost of the project and questioned what is the purpose of the building. However, at least in my opinion, it kindda proved the purpose of the construction. 1st, it served as a commerical center of the city and an important icon that stood up. This really boosted the status of the country in the world. I was surprised many people in the States actually recognize the country because of the building.

Switzerland- I used to live 1 and half years for my hotel mangement course. It's a neutral country- very peaceful and laid back. 3 words to decribe Switzerland - beautiful, natural and breath-taking.
During Summer time, the flowers are gorgeous. During Winter, though the weather is drop death freezing, but it is worth to see the snow especially a spectacular view of the snowy mountain as well as feeling it. I remembered School work was stressing me up so much, but the quiet and beautiful enviroment kindda balanced it - ended up that I was still stress but lesser. Haha. Not least to mention! They have super good chocolates and dairy products! Chocolates are not expensive at all and it's widely sold in supermarkets. ( Coop, Migros, Denner are the main chains) Breads are super delicous and it is freshly baked everyday.

After graduating from Switzerland, I have gotten an internship offer from an American based chain hotel in U.S. After some discussion with parents, I had decided to embark my journey to Atlanta for my one year internship. It was a lot of fun, a lot of freedom and also this is the first time i felt i was living completely by my own( at least in school you lived in school hostel). I have to absorb a completely new working environment, place and also culture. To me, America is like a country of convinient? Maybe i lived in the city so it gives me this impression. Fast food is everywhere over Atlanta city. Shopping online , online banking.. is safe. You can basically pay your bills online but with a % of convinient fee. Pre-made pizza, pre-made soup stock, pre-made frozen dinners are widely sold in supermarkets for those who doesn't cook and don't have time to cook.

Of course, I do miss some of the places I have once lived. But.. home is home. :)

Random Pictures!

I woke up so late today but the good about it is I slept good yesterday. Finally, I got to adjust myself back to the life in KL and Malaysia. Yesterday, I went to send a couple of postcards to my close friends in Atlanta, especially to Ivan who has been really interesting in Asian Culture. He is our F&B houseman where he is originally fromm Bulgaria.

This was the picture i took for a close friend of Twin Tower, She was amazed by the building itself.

Singapore Trip!

I have just made a recent trip to Singapore! Actually, the main agenda of my trip is to meet up with a few close friends who have been living in Singapore. It has been a good trip and did a lot of traveling by myself.

My mom and sister had always loved to travel down to Singapore because they have a lot of good shopping district..(its true until I went there by myself and explored it) Everything is really convenient where you can get everywhere by MRT(singapore’s subway/train system)

When I first got out from the airport, my friend brought me to Bugis, which is the main shopping district where many teenagers like to go. Its really nice! So many cool brands and stuff I have never seen in Malaysia and so. I visited a couple more shopping center like Marina Square, Vivo city(Habour Front), Takashimaya and Paragon.

Bugis Street

Besides than the window shopping.. I did visit a few popular destinations of Singapore including the Fullerton Hotel, Singapore River .. Esplanade Singapore(Singapore’s Opera House). I did not visit Merlion(Singapore’s Icon) because I was told by my friend that it was struck by lighting and current is under construction.. Too Bad, but I will save that for another trip!

Singapore Esplanade
Singapore River

My friend sort of laughed when she heard I visited a museum.. which I think there is nothing wrong with that. Haha. I went to Asian Civilization Museum and it is just across Fullerton Hotel.( just happened that it was there..so I went!) I was hoping to see Kangxi’s exhibition, but it’s not ready for visitors yet.. What a bummer! If you are a foreign visitor and liked South East Asian’s culture, this is a pretty good museum. It’s not that big but good for a start. The admission fee is only SD$5.

Above: Bakerzin, a Singaporean chain restaurant which serves really good dessert- Lavande and Sweet Pleasure, are worth a try for chocolate lovers!
Below: Mos Burger, a Japanese Fast food chain which is popular in Singapore, where they have Rice Burger which subtitube the buns with rice patties, and or course japanese fusion flavours.

I might go back to Singapore for an weekend get off trip and I prefer short trips like this.. =) I miss the dessert in Bakerzin already!

Umbrella~

I was searching around on youtube for fun .. and came across this punk rock group - Vanilla Sky, that did a cover of Rihanna's Umbrella. I personally liked their version a lot, because i am into rock music. Also, its a change after listening to Rihanna's version. After doing some research, i found out that Vanilla sky is an Italian punk rock group! So interesting.. Maybe I have been associating Italian as Tenors/Sopranos, Opera, making Tiramisu.. hahaha Pretty cool! Their version of Umbrella MV is really funny as well!!

Went out to KLCC suria for a short trip! Picked up 2 books and also helped my sister of choosing her fashion design books. =)

Bunny Suicides Calendar

I was in Barnes and Nobles when i saw this ridiculous, black humoured and wacky journal book! I think it's really funny in a way that how the bunny was trying all kinds of way to kill itself and how could people thought of it! Besides than the illustration of the bunny suicides, its quite a useful journal as it provides all kind of general info on the time difference, some chic hotel addresses and website(if you are interested)..birthday list and so on.

I know some of people might get offended by the pictures, but i personally think it's fun. I hope no one take it seriously and try it out! This is definitely not a journal for the younger.
This is my favourite picture out of all of them. " Chopped by A Chopper!!!!"

New Home!

This is going to be my new home! I have just decided to change to blogspot because i am tired of using another site and wanted some changes.

I do like to post interesting stuff about my life and would love to share with everyone! For the past 3 years, I have been traveling a lot due to the course that i took-Hotel Management. I just got back from Atlanta to my home country not long ago and still adjusting myself back to everything in normal.

When I was about to go to Atlanta for my work-internship, Pavillion was the latest newly built shopping center in the heart of KL city. Right now, it's like one of the hottest shopping spot in Malaysia. Today, my sisters and I went there for a short visit but didn't stay long. However, I am glad that i did bought a pair of shoes! - Adidas by Stan Smith.

I will keep on posting!!!
